Visualizing the Federal Budget Deficit

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

The budget deficit projected for the end of September, 2007, is just under $400 billion.  That doesn’t include the war costs.  Because the government likes to give good news, most surpluses are projected to be higher than really expected and most deficits are projected to be lower than really expected.  So the $400 billion we can expect is a low-ball number.  Still, it’s an imposing number. Let’s look at it.
